I have been ordering here for a long time since my neighbors told me about King Chef. It's hard to find good Chinese food in Miami and this place is a jem. I drove past it many times before and I never gave them a thought till I was told the greatness that sit in a strip mall. It's take out or delivery but the food is great and it's a family run business. I am all about supporting the community I live in! It's been in North Miami for a long time. Out of all the Chinese restaurants I've eaten they are the best in the area! I used to eat at a place not too far away from them but the ownership changed and I started looking elsewhere. King Chef has got my loyalty as long as the family is there. Ask for their homemade mustard sauce for people that can take a little heat. For good Chinese food at a good price you can't go wrong with King Chef!!!

Halleluiah! The messiah has arrived with Asian eyes.... I was looking for an alternative to Bamboo Garden in North Miami Beach, and I found this Chinese restaurant in a Yelp search. A tiny, tiny place almost secluded in a commercial strip behind Jimmy's Place, Kings Chef was a nice and unexpected surprise. Is for Take out and Delivery ONLY. And that makes a huge difference in the quality of their food. Since they don't pay the big rent and a great number of employees, they can afford to buy real shrimps and tasty pieces of chicken. We had the special fried rice and the Chicken Chop Suey. Very tasty and generous portions (for small sizes). The best? I just paid $10, enough for two people. They told me the delivery is free, so next time I'll place an order rather than drive. Finally a good Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood. Yuppie!!!!

12/22/2013 Don't waste your time ,money or stomach. There has been a change in the kitchen and more. Food isn't fresh and the way its prepared with the high amounts of MSG and such just might very well kill you. Health dept. Inspections? Check! do yourself a favor! Find Another Place. Use to be good No More That's to0 bad

The staff is very pleasant and helpful and the service is very quick but that doesn't make up for food that is, frankly, bland. I had the BBQ ribs combo with egg drop soup. The rice is the most disappointing.

Best chinese delivery around! I ordered the beef stir fry, wonton soup, and eggdrop soup. To my surprise they used nice looking fresh veggies for the stir fry. I am used to the mushy overcooked canned looking crap. My snow peas and broc were still crisp....whoa! The soups were also great and not extremely salty. The fried noodles for the soup looked homemade not from a package. The food was delivered in under 25 minutes. All I can say is.....GOOAAALLLLL!!!

My wife and I order from here about twice a month. I usually pick it up on my way home. This is mainly for take out or delivery, there really isn't a restaurant, mostly a kitchen. The food is delicious. I'll highlight what we like. Honey Garlic Chix-Addictive, Yummy, Sweet...delicious after a bowl if you catch my drift. Chix and Green Beans-You can dial the sauce back to very light. Healthy and delicious. Tons of green beans!!! Shrimp and Vegetables-Very healthy, very tasty. "Dieter's Special" Good size shrimp, lots of fresh veggies. Spring Rolls-Mandatory Pork Fried Rice-Scrumptous There are not many quality Chinese places around Miami, kind of sad. The portions here are huge, nice containers for everything, food stays hot until you get home. Prices are very reasonable with Fried Rice starting at $3.95, most of the entrees I mentioned are in the $10 range, wife and I always have plenty of leftovers for the next day. 4.5 stars, round to 5, very good for what it is. Neighborhood is a little sketchy and it sits on the backside of a strip mall. Try it, you'll like it.

Great Chinese food! I order from kings chef quite frequently and have never waited over 35mins (which is convenient when hungry). I have tried many different items on their menu and still have nothing but compliments for them. My favorite dish has to be the garlic honey roasted chicken "mmm so good!" Cheers!

I found a COCKROACH in my fried rice. The delivery guy immediately stopped answering the phone after that. Don't believe me? See the picture... Absolutely disgusted. And didn't even get my money back. What a terrible place. I'll be placing a call to the local paper as wells as the health department. Could you get any worse KING CHEF?

I really can't find anything negative to say about King Chef! I only order take-out/delivery from them (I have never dined-in with them), and their delivery is prompt. And I mean VERY fast! I have never had it take longer than 30-35 minutes to arrive, which is more than I can say for most delivery. Most importantly, the food is delicious- I can't get enough of their hot and sour soup, ginger salad dressing (that I always order extra of), shrimp in lobster sauce...the list goes on. The prices are very fair, and I typically order the lunch/dinner special, which comes with the entree, soup or salad, fried rice, and an eggroll at dinner. Order from these guys and they'll be your new place for take-out!

Really yummy take out, very fresh, pretty quick and the price is right, definitely my new Chinese take out spot.

Some of the most detestable Chinese food I've had in a while. If you've ever wondered why Chinese gets such a bad rep down south, you only need to hit up Kings' for a minor reality check. My food not only came cold, but the preparation looked a day or two old. There was some suspicion with the way it was cooked, which I'd rather not say, I don't want you to lose your appetite. This place hands down ranks with one of the worst Chinese spots in the state. So gross. DO NOT ORDER HERE.

This place is hidden in a somewhat run down strip mall but it is definitely worth the visit. It's run by, I'm told, a first generation Chinese couple and their daughter. Friendly people. They good is very good. I have tried a few different things that I really like. What really sold me is that I am a picky water and they made the food exactly as I wanted. I will continue to stop in when I have a craving for Chinese food!!

I had the soy sauce soup with tortilla wrappers. They hide this Oriental-Latin fusion gem under the name "mushu chicken." But you know, there was a lot of it. I'll have leftovers for weeks and I'm certain that with the help of the soy sauce, it'll keep. So if you're in the mood to retain water, now you know where to go.

I'm going with a middle rating for this one on the first try. I was satisfied with their pork fried rice. But as usual when I try a new place, I like to taste their Mongolian beef. But I was very disappointed when they said they don't even make it with scallions. Really? The way she described it sounded nothing like how it's traditionally made so I was hesitant. I went for the General Tso's chicken instead.I asked for it extra spicy but the extra spice came on a little container on the side. And to top it all off the delivery guy i guess was driving recklessly because grease was pouring all over the bag from a tipped container. I was annoyed a little that I had to get my hands all greasy to get my food out of the bag. Besides all this, the food was tasty, delivered quickly, and the customer service on the phone was superb. When i order from them again, I'll order the mongolian and see if they can earn an extra star ;)

OK Fellow area residents, I understand how grossly under served we have been for so long. I mean, yes, we live in Miami, which has horrible Chinese food, and north Miami which has an even slighter chance of delivering, but 5 stars is silly. What this place has going for it: Incredibly friendly staff. This is a big one for me. I didn't have a menu when I ordered, so they kind of worked with me as a described what I wanted, made it all special and custom. Asked me how I was and waited for an answer!! They were very nice and accomodating. Quick delivery. 'nuff said. Food was hot and fresh. Good price. TON of food, enough for more than 2 meals with me. Only part I did not enjoy was the wonton soup. I am a fiend for wonton soup, and theirs was too salty and the wonton wrapper was too thick. I really want to say 3.5 stars for this place, but since they weren't rude as h*ll on the phone and made me feel special: they get a 4.

The Best Chinese Delivery in Miami! We've searched and searched for decent Chinese food in Miami and finally, we've found Kings Chef. Kings Chef far exceeds "decent"...it's delicious. After placing numerous orders for delivery, we decided to check it out in person. It's a small hole in the wall and isn't really set up for dining nevertheless, the place is very nice and tidy. Our food always arrives piping hot and beautifully packed (if you've ever opened a bag of poorly packed Chinese food, you know why this is important). The Honey Garlic Chicken is to die for and we've enjoyed almost all of the beef and chicken dishes on the menu. We look forward to many more movie nights with Kings Chef!

This is the BEST Chinese food I've ever had while living in Miami! The food is fresh, filling, made to order, and the portions are large. The ribs are super tender and DELISH!. The hot & sour soup is the best I've ever had. The rice, both white, and fried are addictive, particularly the house special fried rice. And the best part is that it's, like, 5 minutes from my house, so when I'm feeling greedy, I usually drive the mile to grab my take out order. Now, BEWARE: The neighborhood is NOT the best! However, as long as you mind your business you should be find. Trust me, this grub is worth it!

placed the order, took over an hour to arrive, the hot and sour soup was very good as well as the crab rangoon, the general chicken was a bit disappointing there was fresh broccoli that was taste but the chicken was luke warm and the breading soggy and the sauce not very tasty.........may give it another try

Good fresh food, great prices and generous portions. Free delivery. I have not been in the restaurant. Excellent traditional Chinese. Pleasant surprise in North Miami.

I'm a fan. I get takeout from here, don't recommend eating in. Usually the owners or their daughter is working the front, they are very friendly and helpful. Last time I was there the owner gave me the pro tip "eat with chopsticks, it tastes better." You can get all the standard american - chinese, there are a lot of vegetarian and healthy options. You can order from the menu, usually when I call I don't have one so they are great about suggesting things. "Something spicy with eggplant and tofu . . . " no problem.Or if you want a chicken bucket of fried rice and fried wings, they can handle that too.

I'm giving 5 stars because I am pretty happy with my first order from these guys. I can't say it's the best thing i've ever eaten, but for christmas day, the order was on time, correct, and tasted pretty darn good. No offense, but I was thrilled at the fact that when I called someone answered right away and spoke perfect English, was friendly, knowledgeable, and got the order right the first time. For Miami, this deserves 5 out of 5 starts alone for anything! LOL We got a couple the pu pu platter, which was good. The ribs were surprisingly good quality. We also got a low mein, and a beef dish and we have more than enough food for the 2 of us for dinner + leftovers and then some. It's not near as greasy as our usual Chinese deliver place we use and we got actual meat in our dishes instead of boxes filled with celery and rice and a tiny portion of meat. This may be my new "go-to" take out place for Chinese :)

Since Bamboo Garden on Biscayne closed, I've been on a mission to find take-out Chinese food that's reasonable, yummy, and close to home. King's Chef fits the bill. Prices are reasonable, portions are huge, and they're very accommodating for special orders (low sodium rice, no scallions, sauces on the side for meat dishes, etc). They're always so friendly, even when my family's orders have so many special requests. I'd go for delivery...because if you see the place, you may wonder about eating from there. It's in a semi-sketchy shopping plaza, and there isn't much to see inside the restaurant. Their wonton soup and egg rolls are always in our order. Enjoy!

I was very impressed when I rolled in for a 20 minute break, needed dinner right away and got it in five minutes. My veggie stir-fry and wonton soup was hot, fresh and tasty. Bravo, Kings Chef, bravo. Restaurant prob isn't great for ambiance but fabulous for to-go or delivery.

I have been eating from kings chef since I moved to Miami about 4 years ago. The food is always on point and the service is very sweet and friendly. The pan fried dumplings are a MUST, we never place an order without ordering some if these babies. My boyfriend and I usually order the honey garlic chicken (deliciously fried and saucy) the house special lo mein which is full of meat and plenty of veggies. Their sesame tofu is good too it's firm and crispy. Spring rolls and egg rolls are also yummy.. Portions are great and prices are low. Basically give it a try!!! We usually pick it up and takes about 15 minutes.

I started to notice in some of my orders that King's chef would leave some feathers on the wings, and they fry it too!! I know it's normal that chicken wings have feathers, but to me it's just an indication that they dont prepare their meat as well as they should before putting it to fry. I switched back to Hong Kong, because of this issue. Hong kong has gotten better than the last review that I posted. The whole Feather in the wing just grosses me out a little. Other than the wings, kings chef is good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
